On the web at www.reanon.org, 877-509-2202. Ex-offender reentry support, rehabilitation, education, 24 hour hotline. Reentry Anonymous is a program of recovery for men and women struggling with a life destroyed by incarceration and the consequences thereafter as a result of their criminal past, addiction to a life of crime, and the challenges of ex-offender reentry. Reentry Anonymous members share their experience, strength, and hope with each other in order to educate, inform, and support ex-offenders and recover from the hopeless cycle of recidivism through criminality and substance abuse. Educate: Provide reentry orientation, public awareness of criminal consequences, community outreach, prevention, rehabilitation education & training, assessment, evaluation, intervention, aftercare, and planning on an individual basis specific to given circumstances. Inform: Provide individual resource research for employment, housing, health care, rehab, transportation, clothing, food, etc. regardless of geographic location or legal status. Support: Provide peer counselors who themselves have tackled the challenges of substance abuse, ex-offender reentry, and a life of addiction to criminality. Have you ever asked yourself, "Why do I keep doing things that contribute to my own self-destruction and the destruction of all those around me? Have you ever stopped to think that maybe your family, spouse, society, and the judicial system may not be the problem at all. Have you ever noticed that the destruction in your life follows you wherever you go or whatever you do to stop it? Reentry Anonymous was started in 2005 and officially established in Tampa, Florida in 2010. The organization was started out of the realization that resources alone were not enough to foster successful ex-offender reentry. Reentry Anonymous is the first organization of it's kind to be 100% staffed by advisers, volunteers, mentors, and peer counselors all of which have had to personally survive the challenges of reentry into society after incarceration. These people collectively make up a fellowship of success stories with regards to ex-offender reentry, addiction, poverty, abuse, abandonment, exploitation, and lack of education to lead happy and fulfilled lives. It is the collective experience, strength, and hope of these people that is the core of Reentry Anonymous. It is this common solution to success in reentry when shared between two people which ultimately leads to freedom from ourselves and our past. Reentry Anonymous is not a religious based program but rather spiritually based and utilizes a Twelve Step model of addiction recovery which is similar to other twelve step programs such as Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, Gamblers Anonymous, and Over Eaters Anonymous. Reentry Anonymous does not discriminate on the basis of: Age, Race, Religious/Spiritual belief, Color, Gender, Physical or Psychological Disability, Legal/Criminal Convictions or Status, National origin, Sexual Orientation, Language, Location, or any other basis.
