PERC celebrates new flagship office

On February 5th, the Pinellas Ex Offender Re Entry Coalition celebrated the opening of the Dr. David T. Welch Center for Progress and Community Development in the 16th Street Corridor. Starting with PERC opening a new flagship office at 1601 16th Street South this week for Employment Development, PERC is excited to work with the City of St. Petersburg, Pinellas County Government, and countless others to create employment, businesses and opportunities as part of the Southside Community Redevelopment Agency for South St. Petersburg.

At this ribbon cutting event, City of St. Petersburg Mayor Rick Kriseman, Deputy Mayor Dr. Kanika Tomalin, County Commissioner Ken Welch, Director of Urban Affairs for the City of St. Petersburg Nikki Gaskin Capehart joined PERC Executive Director Michael Jalazo and many other dignitaries and guests for tours, discussions of the mission of the property, and plans for the opening of the PERC office. The Center itself is located at 1601-1521 16th Street South. The PERC Office is at 1601, with the event held in the Community Garden at the north end of the property, overseen by the Front Porch Program.  More at TheWeeklyChallenger.com>>>
